The cadet program has a ranking system based on time in, and hard work. This ranking system is similar to the Royal Canadian Navy's non-commissioned members rank structure. Each rank is represented by a badge or slip on. Here are the different rank badges you can achieve as a sea cadet:

Sea cadets are identified to other cadet units and the public utilizing specific badges, cap tally's, shoulder insignias as well as a units corps crest:
Headdress Insignia
Beret: Centred on the sewn-in badge backing plater, with the base of the badge 1 cm above the leather / cloth band.
Turban: Metal headdress insignia shall be worn centred on the front of the turban.
Sea Cadet Cap Tally
Worn on the Sailor’s Cap
Shoulder Insignia
Worn on each shoulder of the jacket with the upper edge of the insignia sewn flush with the shoulder seam of the jacket.
Name Insignia
Worn on each shoulder of the jacket centered directly under the shoulder insignia.
Corps Badge "Crest" Insignia
Worn on the Sea Cadet tunic.
The Sea Cadet Corps Badge shall be centred, 3 cm above the right breast pocket of the Sea Cadet jacket.
Participation badges display what programs you have participated in during your time as a sea cadet. The below badges are worn on your lower left sleeve above the cuff on your tunic:

This badge is awarded to a cadet who has demonstrated their ability as a bugler and completed the bugler qualification assessment to the satisfaction of the Band Officer. "Sea Cadet Bugle Calls". Ask your band officer for the bugle call sheet music.

Awarded to a cadet after passing the examination for either the Semaphore or Flags and Pennant certificate or the Restricted Operator’s certificate (Maritime).

Awarded to a cadet after passing the examinations for any both of the Semaphore or Flags and Pennant certificate or the Restricted Operator’s certificate (Maritime).
Communicator Level 3.
Awarded to a cadet after passing the examinations for the Semaphore or Flags and Pennant certificate and the Restricted Operator’s certificate (Maritime).
