Covid-19 Protocol

COVID-19

The health, safety and welfare of all Staff, Volunteers and Cadets remains a top priority for us at RCSCC Admiral Mountbatten. With that, under the direction of the Formation Commander of National Cadets and Junior Canadian Rangers Support Group, Brigadier-General Jamie Speiser-Blanchet, the staff have implemented COVID-19 protocols and practices that ensure proper sanitization of training areas, social distancing of personnel and proper use of personal protective equipment (non-medical masks are issued as part of the uniform).

We are also continuing to monitor and follow federal, provincial, and local COVID-19 Health guidelines and update cadets as new information and directives are received from our chain of command.

We strive to keep our training fun and engaging for cadets while keeping them safe! As local COVID situations develop, we will adapt and remain flexible by incorporating both in-person and virtual options for training requirements.

PLEASE KNOW THAT CADETS WHO CANNOT PARTICIPATE IN IN-PERSON OR VIRTUAL TRAINING DUE TO COVID WILL NOT BE DISADVANTAGED OR “HELD BACK” IN THE PROGRAM.

If you are interested in registering, but are uncomfortable with the current local COVID conditions, or if you have further questions about training in a COVID environment and how we are keeping your cadets safe, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Commanding Officer for details.

COVID Update – 30 August 2022 "UPDATE"

As we all return from summer stand down, we find ourselves gearing up for the start of not only the school year, but the cadet training year as well. We know you are excited to get back to training, and despite lifting restrictions in the province of Ontario, corps and squadrons are experiencing delayed starts to their training year as we receive updated information to better plan for every possibility.

RCSCC Admiral Mountbatten along with other corps and squadrons have been given the following directions regarding restrictions to start-up.

- Approval for units to conduct mandatory OR in-person training or activities.

- Cadets are NOT required to be vaccinated to be members of the cadet program.

- Masks are optional.  If the parents or cadets feel comfortable wearing a mask for personal safety, it is at their discretion and will not be discouraged.

The staff will continue to plan for an exciting training year and to ensure your health and safety.
